Counted Needlepoint – Spring Pattern

This Spring counted needlepoint pattern is a simple, counted needlepoint project you can work using complimentary shades of over-dyed size 5 pearl cotton. I’m using DMC’s Color Variations size 5 pearl cotton. The colors are gorgeous and the threads can be found any almost any hobby or fabric chain store.

I’ll be finishing my version as a bracelet. The finished length of the project as charted is approximately 8.5 inches, but for larger wrists you can easily add or remove rows of blossoms to enlarge or reduce the length of the band.

Directions for finishing the bracelet as a simple, closure-free bangle are located Knowledge Nuggets section, or click here to go directly to the page.

Work the design following the counted needlepoint chart, referring to the stitch detail if needed. Remember that the center stitch on each petal is worked last.

After working the chart, fill in the background areas using the white pearl cotton in continental or basketweave tent stitches.

Finished length is approximately 8.5 inches. Add or subtract rows of stitching to enlarge or reduce the length of the band. The design may be finished as a bracelet, bookmark or as desired.
