Stitch up a hen house of irreverent chickens from the Barnyard Bernie and Over-Easy Louise pattern series. Today’s free pattern is this clucky towel design titled Sunny Side Up.
Basic embroidery stitches are used to create this project on a pre-made towel. Stitched used include Stem Stitch, Running Stitch, and several other embroidery stitches.
- Ready-made kitchen towels, placemats and other accessories
- DMC 6-strand floss in color #304 medium red
- Size 9 or 10 embroidery needle
Download the SunnySideUp PDF Pattern freebie. Trace the design onto the fabric using a water-soluble fabric marking pen. Embroider the design using two strands of embroidery floss in your needle. Stem stitch and French knots are the only stitches used in this simple project.
To dress things up, I’ve added a row of herringbone stitch to the bottom of the towel, but this is optional.
