Redwork BOM Quilt

Redwork BOM QuiltFor those of you who were familiar with the old NeedleKnowledge site, I’m happy to report that the Redwork BOM Quilt is back!

This pattern originally appeared in my book, Easy Heirloom Embroidery, which is now out of print. However, the pattern featuring  different bouquet of flowers for each month is just as timely now as it was 10 years ago when the book made its debut, so I’ll share it with you here as a freebie!

You can get the yardage cutting guide, as well as the flower pattern for each month here. Each is given as separate PDF that needs to be printed full size. See the printing tips page for info on printing patterns without scaling.

After printing the patterns for the redwork BOM quilt, work the flower of the month blocks using basic embroidery stitches in red thread on white fabric. A gingham border finished it off, and complete assembly instructions are included in the cutting guide.

Machine embroidery aficionados will be happy to know that there are digitized versions of the patterns on the WindStar Embroidery Designs site.
